HOLLY A KOPMAN, PRINCIPAL

Holly A. Kopman is an award-winning interior designer based in Mill Valley, CA. Founded in 2005, Holly is known for her rebellious glamour, which melds her love of rock ‘n’ roll music and passion for fine art. Her reputation for stunning, impactful design with keen attention to detail puts her in a category of her own.

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Holly set her sights on design at a very young age. Her passion was piqued by her uncle, renowned interior designer of the ’70s, Leslie Grodsky of Griffin Interiors. Holly says being surrounded by furnishings by icons like Paul Evans and Milo Baughman instilled a deep appreciation for historic artisans and world-class craftsmanship.

When Holly graduated from Southern Methodist University, however, adventure called and she packed her bags and moved to Aspen, CO, where her love affair with skiing and mountain life started––and remains to this day.  In 1993, Holly moved (site unseen) to San Francisco to attend Fashion Institute of Design. After a stint at design showroom Sloan Miyasato, she served as a Senior Designer at Rebecca Bradley Interiors, where she honed her skills in residential interiors.

In 2005, Holly struck out on her own, and founded HAK Interior Design. Her portfolio of work includes primary and secondary residences for discerning clients from the San Francisco Bay Area, Aspen, and Malibu. Holly was named “Best Interior Designer” by Marin Magazine in 2022 and 2023. Her work has been published in AD.COM, LUXE, Elledecor.com, San Francisco Magazine, Marin Magazine, and Livingetc, to name a few.
